As part of Italcementi Group continuous commitment to ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility Programmes and with the aim of building a sustainable and long-term dialogue with local communities, Suez Cement distributed 10,000 Kg of rice and pasta in Kafr El Elw and Al Maasara districts, two poor districts located nearby two of the five plants.
In August, the company donated food to more than 1,500 families with a two-month food ration, including dates, cracked wheat, rice, lentils, oils and jam, to sustain them throughout Ramadan. “As a social responsible citizen, our company is keen to improve its dialogue with the local communities. We are glad to be involved in the food distribution and have the opportunity to learn more about their needs. It is very satisfying to see the impact of these small gifts on the families, and in particular on orphans and seniors in the area” stated Roberto Callieri, Managing Director of Suez Cement.
Moreover, Suez Cement organized five iftars - the evening meal for breaking the daily fast during the holy month of Ramadan - for all its employees inside the five plants.
