As the Cha-am Plant of Jalaprathan Cement is located between a tourist resort and a National Park, pollution control is of paramount importance. The plant has become a key participant in the Royal Project for the Conservation and Restoration of the adjacent Khao Nang Phanthurat area, of which approximately 40 acres, including the present quarry area, are under the company's responsibility. Permanent dialogue with the government and the local people has inspired the plant to accelerate the rehabilitation of the quarry in order to bring better environmental conditions to the community. The project's objective once the quarry has completed its functional lifetime, is to develop a recreational park with a lake for community use.
